Just wondering if it is possible to switch out the factory barrel in the sr-22 for a bull barrel? Do you need to change the hand guard to do it? Is it even necessary? Thanks

There is a plastic forend steady at the front of the handguard that conforms closely to the dimension of the factory barrel that may have to be modified, depending on the contour of the "bull" barrel you use. A change otherwise should be straightforward.

Do regular 10/22 barrels fit or does the SR have its own?

All 10/22's are the same. The SR22 is a 10/22. My factory barrel was tight to come off. I have a heavy 12" coming. The factory SR is .750 at the muzzle. The bull 12" will be .920. I will wait to find out.

I would say the stock SR-22 is a mid-heavy barrel. It is heavier than a bone stock 10/22 barrel. I dont think I would want to go to a heavier barrel. The stock SR-22 shoots way more accurate than I expected (<1" at 50yards quite often with a red dot) and never seems to overheat.
