Ha, im not to far from Canada only about an hour and im still in a clean water state, and i need the high capacity mags for when our government collapses, and of coarse all those evil chipmunks.

Yes they are factory Czech mags and are very rare here, very solid, the bottom has a small rivet to, buit if inclined could be taken out. Ive never really had an issue where i needed to rebuild a mag with any gun Ive had and these mags are pretty solid, and i don't think ill ever have to if wanting to a dremel can do it. It is very maneuverable and packable now, can even go prone easier and it offers a better grip than a 10rnder, and looks bad ass of coarse. but i do need a few 5rnders to round out my collection, ive heard of 40rnders to that were converted ak mags.

OIC, you cant disassemble to clean ?

my shorten mag bottom plate slide off as usual , now , im really not jeolous at all . :D

yes, i also converted a 40 rd AK mag to fit a VZ58 and all i had was hand tools . it was easy but i would dont it again cos it cost me too much time. however , i would love to try converting an AK drum .

I don't really find it a problem, i don't remember ever having to clean a magazine for any eastern block weapon, actually not really for most of my guns, not enough crud really gets in there. even my 30rnders don't have any problems in that area. my ruger 10/22 has had the same not dissembling mag for years upon years and no probs. I believe its one of those areas people like to clean that doesn't really need to be touched, unless you pour sand in it or something then it would make things easier, but normal operation i don't think in its whole life it see any malfunctions from it.. I would like to see a drum those are interesting very cool. Make me some 20s and ill compare em:) but im sure the Czechs had there reasons to put rivets in.

Those 20rd mags look really sweet. :) I'm thinking about converting all my 30rd mags to 20rd but I'm afraid I'll ruin them.
Curtton: nice job shortening that mag ... how did you fold the bottom of the mag? ... I mean the part where you slide the bottom plate on to? Didn't the paint come off when you bent it?

thanks, i use the electric element on my stove , i got it red hot and surprisingly it did not burn the paint, i guess cos the aluminum dissipate the heat fast but it did turn the paint from bluish to olive drab green.

i love the OD green color , now only if i could turn the whole rifle to that color.:D

heres is the DIY on how to shorten the mag .
