Sorry if this has been asked before, I am horrible at doing searches! I was just curious if anyone has any good plans for a DIY bench for shooting at my ranch? I am interested in either wood or concrete. Suggestions on which would be better is also appreciated.

If I was going to build another Horst bench I'd put 48" tops on it. It would be way nicer for a spotter on the left seat.

I made one out of 3/4" plywood (cut a 4'x8' sheet in half and doubled it up) and put folding table legs on it to make it portable. Heavy as sin for a "portable" bench but good and stable. I cut out the left side of it for a right handed shooter and mounted the front legs on a 3/4" riser so that both would lie flat when folded up. The only downside to the table legs is that they're normal table height which makes the bench a touch low. You have to use a shorter chair or stool. Other than that it's dandy. If it was going to be a permanent bench I'd go with something more like crazy_davey's. That's a nice looking bench...perfect for shooting M70s off!
