Finn m28 price check

I didn't think they were that valueable.
Cool 'cause I'm getting a good Imperial Home Guard Mosin and an excellent 6.5 Swede shipped up from the states for 700 $ for the pair.
Made my day; guys, thanks

The only Finns I've seen in Canada were a few M91's, and they ranged from $160-$325. I picked up my pristine '42 Tikka for $160; a very accurate rifle!

Hey! everyone is either talking about another rifle, saying it is superior or rarer or better but no one has ever seen the real deal!
For a collector, a rifle doesn't need to be "superior" to be collectible. It can even be an absolute historical clunker. The point is, it has to be significant.
The M-28 and its brother the M-28/30 is one of the most significant and rare Finn Mosins.
It goes in the M-27 and M-29 lineage and is one of the most sought-after Finn rifles. One of the most accurate, too (ask Simo Hayha)...
I would surely be interested by an M-28 in good to very good condition because there aren't many available actually.
Yes, I know $600.00 and over IS a bit stiff but there's a nice second generation M-27 on CGN's Exchange forum actually going for $500.00, so I guess all the Finn rifle's values have taken an upward hike lately... :(
PP.

Arrgh! So much misinformation in this thread!

The ones linked to in the EE are of M39's, not M28's. Not the same gun at all. The M28 was a Civil Guard issue ONLY rifle from, you guessed it, 1928 and onward. For more info, look here:

With the exception of possibly a Chatellerault M91, the M28 is the rarest Mosin you are likely to encounter in Canada. I've collected mosins for years and I only know of THREE M28's in Canada TOTAL. Two were one-off imports by Jean Plammondon in the 1990's (I used to own one of them) and the third was a one-off import by Collector's Source (now on their site).

The M27 shown on Marstar's website, while uncommon, is a far more common gun than an M28.

The M39 is probably superior than all buy perhaps the M28-30 in terms of function, but nowhere near as rare as an M28.

$695 is a very fair price for a decent M28. In terms of sheer rarity, they should be worth even more than that!

I just crossed an all matching 1919 Tula "Big Hammer" M91 off my list, next up is to try and find a Chat M91. From your post I take it they are extreamly rare up here?

I've heard it was only two Chat M91 in Canada(I don't know if it is true) I was looking for Chat M91 for years and bought one from US last month :) Chat 1893. M27/28 is rare, but I will never spend more than price of M39 for it.

PS.I'm LF 1919 Tula "Big Hammer" M91 if you have one for sale, please let me know.

I don't think I'll ever let the 1919 go, but Id really like to see some pics of your Chat! Thats one hell of a score!

Beautiful rifle! If you are ever interested in selling let me know! All I need is a Chat to complete the M91's im trying to collect!
