The 20ga. was built on the 12ga. frame after 78 they had a light weight model that will say light weight on the receiver unless yours says light weight it will take a regular 12ga. stock does not matter what yr.

If a quarter passes through the barrel ring you have a 20 built on a 12 frame. The 12 bore stock will fit but the fore end will have a large gap along the barrel sides. I think I remember that right.

I checked out the barrel codes on the left side of the barrel and they are hard to make out. The first symbol looks like half a trumpet lying on its side. Next is a XO then with a large space 60 or a 6U. The top of the 6 is almost non-existant.
 
The barrel ring is the part soldered to the barrel where the mag tube protrudes through for the mag cap to screw onto to. It is the ring attached to the barrel. I hope that clears it up a bit.
