savage action

I hear yea. I've got thick hands and find it hard to find a stock that allows the pad of my finger to naturally sit on the trigger. I even got the laminate thumb hole from Richard's but the grip is still to far from the trigger.

Yeah, that looks far for me too. I'm still looking around for a simple pistol grip stock that's like the speedfeed IV I got on my shotgun right now.

Choate also puts this stock out but its kinda fugly

That could be an option, but it would be pretty last ditch. It probably wouldn't be the most comfortable or proper stock for a target 300 WM, and it could have a bit of wobble or a strange cheek weld.

Thanks for helping out though! I really like getting ideas :)

The Choate folder from Savage are for big hands! Not sure of the after market one^

this stock looks like the best from what I can find unless there are more options... Not folding, looks stiff, comfy, isn't all that ugly, is synthetic, and the distance from the grip to the trigger looks good... Now how much is it and where can I get one?

That looks real nice! If I had to buy a new stock that would be the one. I think my mitts would be fine with that. :)

now my last problem is : in what caliber ? 223 or 22-250 ?
I know that with the 22-250 you can change caliber by changer the barrel pretty easily. Can you change caliber with a 223 bolt also and to witch one?

Bolt heads are readily available to change calibers but keep in mind the mag may need to be change as well. .223 and .204 ruger use the same bolt face I think.

I find this stock very comfortable and stable and I like the look of it, not to mention the great price.
