I am planning on buying a norinco 1911 NP30 within a few weeks. Just wondering what other aftermarket parts can I put in it? which brands? Are the grips the same as all other 1911's? Now this one is the double stack so it can hold 10 rounds of .45ACP, so it the handle thicker on this model then all the rest?

Can I add after market....
trigger?
hammer?
mag well?
grips?
sights?
abidex safey?
who makes mags that it will take?(besides norinco)

thanks, ranger

I think they will accept any aftermarket parts...but don't quote me...i don't have one yet.

The double stack does make the grip a little wider. If you have never handled a 1911, try to get to your local gun store and check out a single stack and a double stack. if you have average to large hands...it shouldn't be a problem but it's always nice to check to see if it does fit.

A LITTLE wider? The double stack 1911's I've held felt like trying to grip a downspout pipe. Nope, not for me... and I've got fairly big hands too.

I don't mind having to make the parts fit....I just want a new trigger, grips, hammer and a muzzle break then I wanna take it to a local gun smith to tighten it all up and adjust my trigger pull, ect.

You won't be able to replace the Silde Stop which is the extended version. To my knowledge no replacements fit. The gun with the stock, extended slide stop cannot be used in IDPA if that sport interests you.

Not slagging the 1911. Just pointing out that the statement about owning a bone stock 1911 is rare. Because........?

As far as I know, many parts will fit, but it seems no way to get a desent trigger and slide stop for your wide body 1911. Anyway I was told the police/sport and 1911 A1 model will come at June, that is the one that fit almost every aftermarket parts. Just about one or two months, you better wait.
