I had just repainted my cz using the Krylon camo paint and when I cleaned the gun after the first time out most of the new paint came right off:mad:
I totally stripped it and started over using a high heat exhaust header paint and I cooked the rifle in the oven for a few hours. I really liked the way it turned out even though I still get some black coming off with the oil, difference is this time there is still paint left on the gun;) Any way on to the pics

you can see that there is a bit of a coating on the gun, it just wiped off

I think it looks like a factory paint job I am really pleased

I also dyed the plastics, gives it a nice red hue.

I dare say it probably looks great. If you posted some good pics I could give you a definate answer.:)

I use high temp BBQ paint. It seems to hold up to oils (I imagine because of the fats/oils while BBQ'ing?). I liked it better than exhaust paint for longevity.

So the first time you painted it... how did you do it? The Krylon should have stuck.
Did you totally degrease and apply a good primer? Did you leave it 7 days before cleaning it?

The BBQ paint is nice, nice and flat and the oils can add to the finish but not nearly as durable as the Krylon.

i used the fusion paint so it didn't need primer I left it for seven days but it just came right off, tihs paint seems to be doing the trick. I am going to take it as far as I can and then get the whole thing parkerized or maybe deep blued. I am interested in the chroming and finish that you can get through a guy on this site I was reading it last night. I will take better pics later when I can get outside with it.

Doesn't need primer on plastic...
That is odd though, it still should have stuck better, unless the gun was oily.
Anyway, looks great now so it doesn't matter.

Looks good... as for durability, Ive tried a half dozen different commercial paints, baked them etc, and let them sit and tried rubbing them with different gun lubes, so far nothing holds up 100%....and yet the duracoat I put on my rifle seems to hold up to all the regular oils. Its only too bad that you cant get the stuff in Canada any more. Its too bad we can get guns across the border, but no duracoat, or even alumahide etc. from Brownells. (hint hint)

A Canadian manufacurer I know uses high temperature Duplicolor. He says he has tried them all and nothing works better. Canadian Tire sells it.

Anyone know offhand what it would cost to get a CZ 858 chrome lined and painted or coated from these guys?

RACKMAN

119$ + shipping. I will send mine on the next batch. The finish is flat black so you dont really need to repaint after the treatment. Just send email to Rauch tactical, you will have alls the answer about the process.:)
