Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

Here are some more (lots) pictures of my CZ after i changer few things around.. i've been told that the red dot is most effective further away from the eye.. so i tried using the NEA barrel clamp..... :) :) feels good, very quick focus on target, almost co-witness with the irons... ALMOST.. :) but not quite. :) Any suggestions..??

Yes, get a different red dot if you want to co-witness. The FastFire is too thick on the bottom to co-witness with any available mount.

An Aimpoint Micro or Bushnell TRS-25 will co-witness.

Not very "tactical" but here's my first effort with a bit of paracord on the factory folder. A simple over-under wrap..

And the off side knot..

Originally I had wrapped it with the over-under on the off side but I found that left a sharper edge for the cheek weld. This version offers a very small rounded surface with the interlace.

Would the redot get stupid hot sitting there?

I've put 200-300 rounds through since I mounted the clamp rail and I haven't had any issues.

The clamp rail doesn't seem to get any hotter to the touch than the upper handguard rail does. It is attached to the barrel, but it doesn't have all the gas venting on to it.

Thanks for the answer! I really like your setup and might give it a try someday.

It's the cat's ass, truly. A permanently mounted red-dot that co-witnesses with the irons is the best of both worlds.

Yesterday at the range I was shooting the dot out to 200m and then switching to the irons for the long shots. That way I didn't have to estimate my hold-overs. I scared the steel ram at 500m pretty badly.;)

The one downside is that I can't completely remove the piston with that style RDS and the clamp in that postion. If I moved the rail forward a bit and the RDS forward to the front slot, I could take care of the "problem". Right now, I'm not concerned with it as I feel I can clean it sufficiently as-is.

As for the cleaning its kinda s**tty you cant take the piston off, but if you can clean it well enough... that's good enough for me.

The major problem is that I'm too lazy to reposition my carefully aligned, Loc-tited rail. ;)

Eventually I'll move it ahead. I'm thinking 1/2-3/4" should be enough when combined with moving the optic to the front slot in the rail

Very nice. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Although I'll have my red dot mounted on the upper handguard. Why did you go with the barrel mount? To keep the handguard movable?

I've found the NEA handguards to be excellent for return to zero. What I really wanted was an optic mount that I didn't have to move at all. That's why I moved the optic to the clamp rail.

The rail still needs to be moved a bit to ensure I can get the piston completely out.

Better than ACE

If you Canadian guys are looking for the ACE skeleton stock setup try this. First, go to Stormwerkz.com as many of you probably already know, they have the folding stock adapter. Then try Homeland Defense & Police Supply at w ww.hdps.org/htm/3.htm Ace's top tube is plastic, this one isn't. I'm pretty sure both of these companies ship to Canada.
