How do "revolver" shotguns (ex. Rossi Judge Circuit) fit into shotgun plug laws?

Alberta's General Regulations section point #5 lists prohibited things for hunting. One line is "a pistol or revolver". Pretty grey and vague but if it revolves to work I think Alberta's got you by the (Gun)nutz!

For now... I believe there are some machinations from the AFGA working towards allowing handgun hunting again.

Very preliminary, but it's a slow process... unless you're banning something, of course, in which case 'overnight' works. Apparently.

Question is, for waterfowl, are NonTox .410 shells available.....I have never seen any at any store I frequent, doesn't mean they don't exist.

Next question, if you were going to use it in the Controlled hunt, in Ontario say, as a Shotgun, I don't think there would be any way to "Plug" it to satisfy a Conservation Officer, and .410 slugs are pretty rare, and Buck shot out of a .410 is almost useless I would imagine. Whatever slams your doors however, if it is legal, go for it!

I have no intentions of using one for waterfowl (if I can get my hands on one, this is more of hypothetical situation anyways). My question was more oriented towards grouse/small game hunting which are also covered (at least in Ontario) by the 3 shot limit for shotguns.

MSRP is about $650 for the yanks.

I like it and I want one.

Worst case scenario, you could have snap caps with some kind of expansion screw that makes it stay in the cylinder until you use a screwdriver to remove the "plugs"

Except that they'd stop the ejector from working, and you'd be pencil popping out all three of the good shells. Don't see a use for this really when you can have a good pump or auto. But, looks interesting, to each their own!

My thoughts exactly! Who the hell shoots anything but grouse or rabbit with a .410? And even if you were gonna it is gonna pattern in large donut shapes because of the rifling. It might be fun but pretty damn useless for hunting applications if you ask me. Unless you are shooting hot .45 Colt loads for dear hunting I could see it being a decent brush gun!

maybe i am just crazy but what if you were to stick your total of 3 .410 shots in the gun then add two .45's (just know how it cycles) this way your not hunting with more than one gun, And your not breaking any rules :D

Most places say you cant hunt with 2 guns. And you can use the other 2 rounds as defense against a dinosaur. (Just an idea)

Did you read the post? I have no intention of waterfowl hunting with a said gun. I clearly have stated grouse.

Its still not gonna pattern for sh t! Even at 10m I vet you get large donut shaped patterns of shot. Rifling in the barrel throws the shot in strange patterns.

This is buckshot at 5yrds:eek: I cant imagine what birdshot is gonna look like but good luck!
