Tactical Rimfires

I asked about the SR-22 at the local hardware store. The guy says they have 10 coming in any time. I figure I will get one (if it is a fair price). Built out of a regular 10/22, it should be a good working rifle.

Any day turned into a month and a half. Oh well, at least I got one ($ 559.99 plus GST) Of the ten they ordered, only 3 came in. Same old story, small fish in a big pond. My next step is to get a scope. I didn't want any of the ones at that store (to long). I will probably just get a small red dot on ebay.

Please update and sticky

Could the threadowner please update to show the FRT info for both the S&W and the Colt (I've seen other threads indicating that the FRTs have been issued for both of these...RESTRICTED  ...at least until the aftermath of the Henderson case)?

Many Thanks.

P.S. Please sticky this thread as a useful reference.

So... The S&W MP 15/22 gets tagged as restricted and the Sig 552 got a prohibited status! WTF?

We need to find a way to stop the RCMP from classifying new firearms and changing the class of existing firearms. With the logic they are using they are setting presidence to reclassify ALL semi-auto firearms.

R. v. Henderson is the answer.

Look it up in the Firearm Politics section.

Manufacturers should stop making the rimfires "look" like other centerfire military firearms( especially those on the prohib or restricted lists), leading the classification to be a "variant" based only on visual appearance. ;)

I'm just going to wait for a company to come out with a belt fed M249 SAW in .22 with a 19" barrel. There should be no problem with that :D:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I think www.fabsports.ca had a C9 stock for the 10/22 a while back, its no longer on the web site, might be sold out.

OMG now imagine a police officer pulling you over with that in the back seat. Can you say SH*T storm!!!!! lol That looks awesome, just need to have belt with ammo fed through the top to finish the look for me or a large box imitating the original box mag would rule as well.

Now that's nice! Taking a look at the manufacturer's site: http://www.lakesideguns.com/, I see that this is simply a conversion kit for an AR lower. So it is just an upper; no FRT or registration required... So if someone like Kodiak Outpost were to import a bunch, they would be both legal and sell like hotcakes, no? ;)
