My first guns! A pair of Tula refurb SKS's - 1950 and 1955

Hey All,

After waiting FOREVER for my licence to arrive (okay, it only felt like forever ;)), I picked up my first, and second guns :D. A pair of black bayonet refurbs from Accuracy Plus in peterborough.

Both are Tula arsenal marked, my wife's is a 1950...

...and mine is a 1955...

...although both are definitely mutts, all the stamped numbers match, save for the electropencilled number on the gas tube (mine is even a laminated gas tube on a non laminated stock... :kickInTheNuts:).
The interesting thing is the stamped numbers all match, but my 1955 has an early pre-1955 trigger guard. ...like I said, mutts, but nice mutts :)

So for a while there, I owned two guns... then I called the CFC, and now I only own one... the wife owns the other...

Good thing I have an M-305 on preorder :D

Just need to find a place to shoot them now.... ...anyone here a member of the Stittsville gun club?

Matt

Edit: anyone know a place to get the SKS sight tool locally?

Nice!

Welcome to the club; all you need now is 4 or 5 more to round out the collection with an M14 and don't forget a shotgun. Or the bolt guns you will need as well. :D

Nice guns. I have a 53' Tula and I shoot pop cans at 75 yards all day with it no problem.....you gotta love how cheap they are to shoot too. The only down side is that its corrosive ammo but after your first few times cleaning them you will speed up alot.

Welcome to the club!!!

You'll need to get another crate (or three;) ) of ammo. Somehow, when shooting SKS's, those crates just don't last very long.

You did the right thing, always buy them in pairs, never one alone.

Same goes for your crate of ammo, looks so lonely, you should have bought two... :D

just got myself a 52 tula hardwood with black bayonet! took it out the next day and only put through 80 rounds... I'm thinking of bringing the whole crate next time lol

You should be able to get the part there if not try the gun store just outside of Belleville there is also a smaller gun store down the road with a raelly nice man called Kellys gun he may have it.

Nice guns. I have always wanted to buy from Accuracy Plus on the way by how are the prices? and do they have lots of crates left? Thx.

Great people to deal with (especially for a newb, such as myself), and the prices were great too... paid $400 for an SKS and a crate of ammo... x2 ;)

(so if you figure on 200 for a russian SKS and 200 for ammo, that's a pretty good deal)

When I was in (almost 4 weeks ago), they had probably 20 more crates of ammo, and the guns to go with the crates :D.
