New Service Colt Revolver with some providence... NOW WITH PICS OF THE HOLY BUGgER!

Ok, Something has caught my eye on the EE. If I decide to purchase, this revolver will have to go to offset the cost. Where would you put an appraisal on it? I'm not sure if it's going up, as I am reluctant to sell it & I have promised one member on here already 1st crack at it. So I'm not looking for a whole bunch of PM's with offers, just a realistic value.
 
I think they got engraved after the war. ...

That would not have been the custom for officers' personal sidearms. For example, note that Dr. Wishart had his revolver engraved with his rank as Lieutenant. After the war he was a Captain.

(It was not uncommon for families of a newly commissioned officer to make him a gift of sword or pistol and have it engraved with his name and rank and Regiment or Corps.)
