Has anybody seen these things? I've never heard of Regent before in my life. I had the oppurtunity to blast one off and these things are SWEET! I kicked the living crap out of it and she holds up like a dream.

I looked at one in a gunshop in Yorkton and was quite impressed. Very tight. Sights could stand to be a little different and the plastic grips would have to go, but otherwise, nice piece.

Handled one at WSS in Lethbridge. Seemed well put together. The finish was good, it didn't sound or feel like a gravel road when racking it, trigger felt OK. If you don't like Norcs, this looks like a decent alternative without dropping large $$$.

(E)

Saw one at auction. Didn't get to play with it too much, but looked ok...
I think if I was in the market for another 1911 I might spend the extra hundred and a half and go with the STI Spartan though. Nothing against Regent, just that I was real impressed with the Spartan for the price.

I saw that gun too. Too much like a Norinco for my liking. Rather rough fit and finish and terrible looking grips. Not to say it wouldn't be a decent gun though.....

The one I handled (but wasn't able to shoot) had a terrible front sight, you could hardly see it; the trigger felt like it was being dragged over gravel and the slide hardly snapped forward when released. It was more like it reluctantly went into battery. I don't even want to talk about the grips. Don't know how they shoot but my initial impression was- I would take a Norinco over it if they were the only two choices. Thank God they aren't.

I agree. The extra money you'll spend will get you the necessary mods for less plus better quality imo.

All hail the 1911!

Another 1911 on the market is always a good thing if it's decent quality, functional & reasonable in price.
