The military used our range for training over the Olympics. I now have a 5 gallon bucket of IVI brass for my .223...:)

Never used this brass before, but i somehow suspect I will be using it for the remainder of my life.:p

IVI is great for semi-autos and as pointed out, is all boxer- primed, crimped. The nicest tool for removal of the crimp is by Dillon. If talking precision rifle, then Lapua is the way to go and is like racing a NASCAR car against a McLaren.

It's excellent brass , still have a #### load have not yet used fr. the free ammo DCRA days gone by. I don't think you can stuff as much powder as comm. cases because of the thicker walls.

Agree!

Nice stuff, easy to clean up for reuse.

Watch the loads, if you are prone to start anywhere near the top end of the loads listed in the books. The brass is a bit thicker than most, but you may wish to section one or two to see how it compares, yourself.

The stuff I reworked a couple years back was near the top end of the case length range.

I just sorted it out by headstamp into groups, kept the stuff that I had the most of matching, and gave away the rest. Should have kept more I suppose.

I found it deprimed easily, I just used a carbide ball end burr for a die grinder to champher the primer pockets. It only required that I take enough off to remove the small burr and it was easy to reprime.

Good score!

Cheers

Good stuff.

Reduce your normal primer charge and work up.

Send me the bucket, I will fix the brass and will return you 200 pieces ready to load.
I will throw in one camel and two donkeys. :D

Good score.

"...military used our range..." And they didn't clean up their mess? Not that I suppose you're complaining too much.
"...assumed it was..." What's the head stamp? IVI has never loaded .223/5.56 with berdan primers. They didn't use 'em for 7.62NATO either. IVI only existed from the late 60's. Foreigned owned now.
"...want the fastest tool..." Swager.

The fastest decrimping tool is a Dillon 1050 press.:)

Or, you could just get the Dillon Super Swage 600 for about $100, and do the same job. I just did 300 .223 on mine , no sweat, no muss, no fuss.

Used the Super Swager, but sold it when I found out how quick and ridiculously simple it was for a RCBS VLD internal chamfer tool to remove that crimp.
