What's the best low cost 2/34" shell for a 22" rem 1100. walmart/canadian tire value you packs won't even unlock the bolt. Ranger low recoil slugs and and federal low recoil buck won't work.

If the BBL was cut down from 28''or 30'' you will have problems the gas port was designed to work with back pressure from that length of a BBl you may have to enlarge the gas port. .86'' no.44 drill bit

Is the rubber "o" ring in place or torn? Is it a 3" gun? Those loads should cycle that gun. How ports in the barrel?

Here's another little tidbit on gas operated auto's if they are not locked tight against your shoulder they may not cycle not likely your trouble when I did Remington's warranty work once in a while a fellow would bring a field gun in that would not cycle I would take it out for test firing and it would work just fine.

I'd go with checking the o-ring and then run a wire thru the gas ports on the barrel to be sure they are clean.

If its a new remington you should check to see if they remember to drill the gas ports
