Hey, Guys! I am looking at a Simonov-SKS! Not knowing anything about them, i am asking! 'are they any good??? Just want it for fun shooting...Is $199.00 too much to pay at a local Gun shop?
These look like they have never been used..right out of the crates,

Dude, read any thread in this forum with "SKS" in it. They are inexpensive, cheap to shoot, accurate, reliable as a hammer, and fun. Stay away from them if you don't like your guns to have any of these attributes..

ill tell you what i think, they are the most reliable semi auto ever made just clean it good after shooting surplus ammo to prevent corrosion.

Bought my refurbed one for $200 six months ago and don't regret it. It digests and shoots surplus ammo just fine and is quite accurate, especially with the bayonet mounted. Just be prepared for a bit of cleaning session when you get home if you shoot surplus.

We think it is an awesome rifle. Get one for yourself, one for your wife and maybe one for your kid. You will have lot's of fun days out.
