I am happy to say I am the proud new owner of a Winchester Wildcat .22lr Target/Varmint Bull barrel. It seems like a extremely well put together rifle, with quality that would rival a Winchester Centerfire Rifle. This rifle comes with a heavy Bull barrel, a adjustable 2-Stage trigger, and 4 detachable Magazines (3-10rounders, 1-5rounder).
The ammount of quality, and detail that went into this Rimfire actually puts it into a different league as my Carbine Ruger 10/22, although I still love the Ruger very much. I still can't believe that this rifle cost me only $50 more than my Carbine Ruger. It does'nt bother me one bit that this Rifle is made in Russia, especially after seeing what you get for the money, absoloutely incredible. I just hope it shoots as good as it looks, but from some of the other reviews out there on this rifle, it sounds like a tack driver.
I have just one question to anyone else out there that has one of these nice Rimfires. Do you guys install a Weaver style base and rings, or would you guys just through on a couple of rings that would fit nicely on the provided groves.
Since the recoil of a .22 is'nt exactly shoulder breaking, I would think that using a set of Rimfire rings would be fine. What do you guys think?
These are the mounts I have put on, just to try them out. They seem solid, and considering the amount of recoil a .22lr puts out, I would assume they will be fine for the Scope Mount. Opinions, and past experience would be more than welcome if anyone has done the same to there Wildcat.
