I've got a 1911 and an SR9 (very Glockish). I like em both just fine, don't see the conflict. Even the 9 vs .45 conflict seems weak to me, since all we can use our pistols for is killing paper at a range.

How about "for the eternal conflict between wheels and springs"?
 
It's not the conflict between the 1911 and Glock. It's the people that piss on plastic framed guns. Old folk and ignorant lameasses. Both are great but some people can't just STFU.
 
functionally, i like the 1911 platform. caliber-wise, i also like it. but my hands HATE the thin grips. would be nice if the original design was a bit bigger. i'm guessing that 100 years ago or so, people had slightly smaller hands.

from a design point, i like the Glock. from a size and fit point, i also like it.

is it possible to own TWO handguns? or maybe even push the envelope and own both handguns in both calibers? that's FOUR handguns!!! is that even legal in Canada!?!?!?!?!? OMGOMGOMG!!!

If you want a wider grip on your 1911 get a double stack?

Heretic! Don't you know that the 1911 is perfect as JM Browning designed it? And those of us with small hands sure appreciate that fact.:D

Both are good, but I have so far shot my 1911 much better than any Glock I have tried. I did recently try a G34 that was pretty sweet, though. I might have to break down and buy a plastic pistol eventually.

But then again some of us 'old folk' that love the 1911 also shoot a Glock.... ;)
