Hi guys, need some advice:
I just purchased a used Stevens 200 in .223 for my first centre fire rifle rig. I am using it for varmits mainly. It's an older stagger feed model. It is completely stock. I tried it our for the first time today and encountered a problem.
I was shooting factory American Eagle 55gr FMJ at the range. After firing the case would not always eject properly. About half of the 40 rds I fired would fall out of the bolt face before clearing the receiver and ejecting. When I cycled unfired rounds every one ejected properly. The problem only presents itself when ejecting fired cases.
Could this be a weak extractor spring? Like I said, the empty cases just seems to fall out of the bolt face before going far enough to eject. I don't think ammo would cause this right?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Giggidy
