The last of the pre-Sako Tikkas. My shiny new M65 Hunter in 6.5x55 Swedish. I snapped this beauty up from a fellow gunnut. She was a safe queen. I mounted a nice, period correct Burris 6x18x40AO to maintain the proper appearance.

Took her out today and shot a box of old PRVI just to get a feel for the rifle. Shot .75 MOA and 2" at 300 yards. I can't wait to work up some handloads!

the Tikka M55's and M65's were top notch,..I've owned a few.
One I owned had the paperwork in the box from 1985..it had both Sako and Tikka logos on the box, so they were made during and for a while after the buyout by Sako.

I'll bet that 6.5 will be rediculously accurate.....

nice find....:)

I have an unusual M65 also in 6.5.
Its odd in that it has a short 20" fluted bbl., nice checkered stock with no cheekpiece, iron sights like my other 65s and factory QD scope rings.
I'm not sure what model it would be....will try and post pics....

A local CGN member has the same rifle in 22-250, M55 of course.....I think they called it the Trapper model.

I have the same rifle (Marked as an LSA-65), Mine wears an old Leupold Varix-II 3-9x40 on Burris rings and bases. Its a Great All around rifle, Not my main hunting rifle but It usually along for hunting trips as a spare or loaner to a trusted friend.

Mine also shoots really well. Ive got 85gr. and 140 gr. bullets hitting the same POI at 100 yards right now (the 85gr. load is tamed down to about 3000 fps).

That rifle is built like a tank.....I just wish I could find a spare Magazine for it.

sweet, i kept an eye out for one in 6.5x55, gave up and grabbed a 700 classic instead. i have a M55 in .223, and it usually shoots half to three quarter inches all day long, even had the odd quarter inch group.

Not quite "The Last"

I have a pre-Sako Tikka M-65 DeLuxe in 30-06, as well, a beautiful rifle ... walnut monte-carlo stocks, white line spacers and red wood caps ... roll over cheek piece ... the lot .... my first "REAL GUN" and she's a beauty ... shoots like a dream, too. Too nice, really to take into into the bush but I did for many a year ... took her share of white tails, as well.

You got yourself a great rifle.

I handled the rifle that Pathfinder was speaking of today and all i can say is " I hope he'll sell it to me or leave it to me in his will :D " If i can ever get my hands on one, i'll pay at least 100$ over the asking price. I think they're worth it.

Oh Good I was going to list it for 800$ ;).

I think there is one in the EE (magnum cal) for well over 1000$....if you keep your eyes open they do come up now and then and for reasonable prices.

At 800$, i'd pay it. As long as the scope is included :p . That is one beautiful rifle you have in a great caliber Pathfinder. I'm going to have to wait until my next birthday to pick one up because the gun safe is overflowing at present. I promised my dad i wouldn't add another rifle to the collection until then. It sucks because my birthday was on the 5th :( .I've already added 2 to the collection since february. I'm going to have to get into reloading first. All i'm saying is if anyone comes accross one of these rifles in a caliber they want, don't ever hesitate. You'll never regret it. Later
