Alberta Long Range Challange 2010 Registration Information. (Update page 1)

We could really use a few guys to commit to help pack up after the shoot on Sunday.

There are going to be a limited number of hoodies this year and I'm pretty sure that anyone who helps rig out the targets and put back up the old ones, there will be a hoodie in it for them.

We'll only need a few guys. Send me a PM if your interested.

We have a number of teams that have had more than enough time to get there entry fees in and have not so i am opening up four spots for the shoot. First come first serve.

If there are any solo shooters out there that would like to partake and need a 2nd shoot me a message. My dad would like to shoot, just needs a partner.

mutt or dave... what is the deal for food? any one coming out to cook up some burgers or hot dogs??

No plans for food this year. If someone wants to bring a BBQ and organize some sort of food sale, that would be great. I'll even bring a bunch of moose smokies to give out if there's going to be a BBQ.

Mutt and Chad are working out of town right up to the shoot and I have been busy as heck at work. There has not been a lot of spare time for the three organizers this year so we have to keep things simple.

It's still going to be a great event but some of the smaller stuff have to be left out.

Once again if we can get a few more guys to help out after the shoot please send me a PM. I have two now and can use two more, preferably someone with an empty truck.:D

Dave

I will have a BarBQ on site.. if some wants to use it that is fine.. If you abuse it remember there are alot of rifles at hand and the next guy might be pissy..LOL

I will drop it off Thursday night and it will be there until Sunday night or Monday depending on clean up..

Just to be clear we are looking at having a shooters meeting at 8am both qualifying days. Shooting will start right after meeting.

Just to be more clear, anyone who is late will not be aloud to make up for a relay later on.

If their team is picked to shoot and no one steps up to the line then a zero score is automatically given for that round.

Shooting order is picked randomly before the event to save time the morning of. The order will not be changed for any reason once it has been picked.

Also, we now have four guys to help out after the shoot on Sunday. Thanks to Steve, Bob, Dana, and Bill for volunteering to help pack up, hope you guys have strong backs.:D

One more thing, please PM Mutt or myself if you have any questions about the shoot. Although we will be more than willing to help you during the event, it would be alot easier to answer questions now instead of getting 30 questions all at once, 8am Friday morning.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks

Like Steve said, the long range section is closed down but the rest of the range is still open for use.

The long range section will be shut down from about 2pm Thursday till about 6pm Sunday, unless the finals run a little longer.

If you want to come over to the long range section to watch the event, all we ask is that you don't go near the shooters equipment/guns. We had a kid nock over a $5000 rifle one year, yep that was awkward.

Just a reminder to everyone, we were not able to get a fab tent this year to store the guns. There will be an area to put your equipment but it will not be covered.

Weekend Weather Forecast

Just checked the forecast for Edmonton. Looks like high of 12 both days with a low of 5 or 7. 40% chance of 10mm or so of rain Saturday, and 90% of the same on sunday. I was in Gennessee in Aug/04 for a tactiucal rifle course, and it can really rain there!!! So, bring a tarp or two and some good rain gear. Ill be bringing some WD 40 to displace the rain water from my rifle as well.

EVERY time Mutt puts on a shoot there it rains, or hails or snows and usually all 3 with a very strong wind thrown in for good measure:p

Yep be prepared for poor weather. Shooting rain or shine. We will only hold off on a relay if the targets are not visible. As soon as we can see the targets shooting will resume.

Also, there is no walking man this year.:( Just not enough time to get it up and running. It worked for awhile last year and then S#!T the bed. Unless it worked 100% we did not want to haul it out there. Now that I have a garage again I plan to get it working flawless for next year.

Sorry about that guys, not much we can do at this point.

On a good note we are now set up for the 800m and also added a fourth position:). With what little time they had, Mutt and Chad worked their asses off so we could get a complete new set of targets allowing more shooters and less time between shooting. Hats off to those guys for sacrificing their spare time so that we can have an awesome shoot.

I heard about that...
You might wanna rope off a storage area with a guard or something to watch over people's stuff. Not just to protect from kids horsing around, as there's alot of expensive kit there!

My partner has had to suddenly cancel on me, if there is someone who wanted to shoot at this match that did not make it in on time and still wants to come please PM me as I suddenly seem to be a solo act:eek:

So I stopped in today.. I think the "Cold Bore Bandits" took first today and some team with a ### sounding name like "Splash" or something took second..LOL

Congrats to any one who actually hit targets today as it was quite the weather down there...
