Fellow Duck/Geese Hunters,

I need the best semi auto for duck/geese hunting. I have been thinking a lot and it came down to Benelli Super Black Eagle II or the new Benelli Vinci.

Now I don't know which one to pick? I know lots of peeople owns SBE II but I would like to know how does the new Vinci stands compared to SBE?

Any advice will be of great help. Thanks guys.

I've heard good things about the Vinci but when I look at it I vomit a little in my mouth. Benelli's are tops. You can never go wrong with them or Berettas in a semiauto.

SBE II is 3.5"
Vinci is 3"

Vinci is lighter overall. Depends if you want to run the 3.5 ammo or not.
Both are great!

If I were suck and had to pick one it would be the SBE2, I have had the SBE 2 and have shot the vinci. I sold my SBE2 and and upgraded to the Extrema 2. THe Benelli's feal the best in your hands but shoot both for a day and you will not give the Extrema2 back. And dont get the 3", go for the 3.5" anyone who tells you, you don't need the 3.5" dosent have one! or sits down to pee.

Anyone who tells you that you need 3.5 inch capability, can't shoot for sh*t! 3.5 inch shells brought in a whole new breed of morons taking 70 yard shots on birds they couldn't hit at 30. Get the gun that fits you best, both of these shotguns feel very different. I much prefer the stock and design of the SBE, but 2k for a synthetic gun is crazy. I love my Benellis, but mine are all wood stocked with much more character, IMHO.

I know its kind of late in the post but i feel i should say something. I love benellis in fact I have both the sbe1 and 2 and yes i shoot 3.5 inch shells, where i hunt I dont have the luxury to hunt snow geese over decoys, its public delta land (lots of hunters competing for game). I shoot the 3.5 inch shells only when i believe its a doable shot, what it does is obvious, more payload and if you invest some money and buy the hevy-shot loads it also translated to longer downrange hitting power

I handled a Vinci a couple of weeks ago and can't get over how weird the grasping grooves fealt on the pistol grip. So much so, that I found a M2 field in the EE to buy as my new hunting SG.

You might also broaden your options with a Franchi I-12.

Fires no more than the three inch, but wonderful gun - and a lessee price than the other two. From what I understand it was made in co-operation with their evil twin - Benelli. In essence, you get the SBEII for a fraction of the price. See - looking who is saving you $$$ :)

I was in the same situations a couple months ago.. I honestly hate the look of the new benelli's. I ended up getting an extrema II,, and couldnt be more happier with it! Black synthetic was under $1500 shipped... Got it from Clay at Prophet River. Hands down the best deal you will find on a top of the line waterfowl autoloader,, and the service is the best in the business as far as im concerned! All my firearm/optics purchases will be made thru them now!

(Hes got the black synthetic Urika II 3" gun for $999)
