I have personally owned about a dozen RESTRICTED G26/G19 and G27/G23 Glock pistols. All of these were originally PROHIBS, which I re-registered as Restricted with the installation of longer than 106 MM barrels.
In Canuckistan, it is a LOT easier to resell a pistol as a restricted instead of a prohib. And, here in Canuckistan, this is a one way street ... you CAN legally turn a PROHIB pistol into a restricted, but as far as I know, you can no longer legally import PROHIB pistols, nor can you legally chop the barrel on a restricted to make a prohib.
This means the pool of legal prohib pistols is shrinking.
As for re-registering the prohibs as restricteds, it ain't rocket science, but it DOES take a while for the bean counters to process the paper work.
AND,
they always [ ALWAYS] keep the shorty barrel.
My first G26, [about seven years ago] was in the RCMP gun locker in Smithers for six months after I'd moved. These days, it seems to take about two weeks to a month for the paperwork to get processed.
PS: How many NEW IN THE BOX RESTRICTED G27s do you want?
BUT,
I sell them for about $1000 each.
I know several satisfied Glock minigun owners who will tell you that, to the right person, they are worth the price.
PPS: If I could have ONLY one Glock,
it would be a G23, with a 9mm and .357 SIG conversion.
the G23 balances the best of all the Glocks for me.
BUT,
the idea of cutting down the butt on a G22 is starting to appeal to me ....
cheaper, easier to find, and itv will take a standard AA .22 LR conversion kit.
maybe that will be my NEXT Glock project.
