Hi guy's,

I was wondering if any body had any good ideas or places for buying a shooting vest for idpa? I cant seem to find one that doesn't have holes in it for air flow. I know that I can just wear a shirt but Im looking at buying a vest if anybody has any ideas it would be much apprecited. Also If you buy a vest that has holes in it would it be legal as long as you cant see your holster ?
thank's marc

Check out lapolicegear. com and sportsmansguide. com, they have vests for $30 but sportsmans' is a better vest thou is out till 25th...

Bob B from Terrace highly recommends one of the vests from "marks workwear world" .... no joke.... they are great. If not them and your going to buy online anyway purchase one from someone that supports the sport like eotac.com who has awesome gear.

Marc your cover garment must conceal your holster and mag carriers when your arms are extended horizonatally at shoulder height. If the vest has mesh at the back or front but still conceals both you are good to go. Just covering the holster/mag pouch with mesh doesn't meet the requirements.

As far as vests go, Tim Cox has alluded to the Mark's Work Warehouse vest which is relatively inexpensive and durable. It is heavy though and warm when the temp. rises. eotac is a very strong supporter of our sport and makes excellent apparel as does 5.11. My advice is find one within your budget and go play and practice.

Take Care

ps The HQ store offers an excellent vest at an attractive price as well.

Thank's guy's for all the great info, Im gonna go to mark's today and see what they have. I really like the vest on the idpa website but im kinda worried about ordering it and it not fitting. Does any body know if there is a place around sarnia, london ,chatham that might have one of these I would be able to try on.

If you come to the Rondeau shoot in Chatham next weekend, you can try mine.

ok guy's just got back from mark's work wearhouse and the lady said they dont sell that style of vest, I serched the whole store and came up emptied handed maybe it's only a winter thing. If someone had a link to it that would be great. She also said if I had a number off of one she could look it up for me.

I use the 5.11 tactical, only because they were being cleared out at $29.99 each. I would not have paid full pop just to have fun. Give Darren at One Shot Tactical a Pm he can help you out. If you do not mind spending the $$$ the 5.11 is a great vest.

Much appreciated I might have to do that, is the shoot sat or sun ?

Saturday.

Columbia has a store in Windsor just down from the Ambassador bridge that has vests suitable for IDPA. Very similar to the actual IDPA vest.

I just bought a Woolrigh Elite vest last week (I think it is a Discreet Carry) at Le Baron and it is really nice. It is casual enough that I have been wearing it outside of the range as an outet garment and my wife likes the looks of it.
