Well i got a call this morning from a buddy that his #### pump quit working and flooded the basement. so i said i would help ( having 3 yrs electrical apprentice)
he had been having problems for a couple weeks
so i go check the problem and it is a bad wire to the septic tank, but i cant help to notice the old gun rack not even hung up but laying on the floor.
with one old shotgun on the 2nd tier rusting from the flooded basement, i tryed to open it..... it was hard......i saw a can of wd 40 so i give it to her and got it open, it had a long bbl i got it open cleaned the rust off of it(oil on a rag)
also told him to hang it up somewhere
i dont like to see these things happen but once i cleaned the rest off i see it is a McCleods 60th aniversary edition a cooey 12 gauge
once i got her open i checked it out the bbl was like a chrome bore and nice
glad i helped out the old guy before the gun was toast
he told me the rcmp made him take them off the wall by the door may yrs ago so he put them in the basement right next to the septic/water system
what a shame
well thanks for reading

Its not always about whats right these days, its about whats easiest. That can be the only explanation for the number of criminals walking the streets with guns that you and I (the only ones that probably would never use a gun for evil) cannot ever carry. Its a hell of a lot easier to pick on the law abiding Law fearing citizens who make a clerical error, or a simple mistake in storage of a firearm, than the repribates and recidivists occupying every damn corner these days.

You should offer to let him "Hang it" in YOUR workshop. (you know.....just to protect it) and better yet, for legality reasons, he might as well sign it over to you so there is no confusion if you ever get inspected by the CFO!!!!
