Light strikes on my 858

Strangest thing. On both surplus & commercial ammo, I got a total of 3-4 light strikes on the primer with no boom this past Sunday. Definitely not the well-known "gremlin" which I've never experienced but intend to avoid by having the bolt tabbed when the rifle goes out to RT for barrel lining.
Any ideas?

Could be carbon or rust build up in the firing pin channel

Also insure you bolt carrier is fully forward the next time it happens

Mine does the same I just thought it was the gremlin and intend to get the carrier tabbed.

The "gremlin", if I understand correctly, causes a no-click scenario. The hammer simply doesn't #### back after firing. What I got were a coupla feeble wacks on the primer.
