Need experienced reloaders opinion on LEE Deluxe 4 Hole Turret Press Kit

So would the Lee Classic be good for 30-06? It says up to 50bmg on the website but I don't know what to believe now lol

I think we are getting confused with Lee's terminology.

The Lee Classic Cast Single Stage Press will reload up to .50 BMG. It will definitely do .30-06.

The Lee Classic Turret Press (built with cast iron base/frame and steel linkage) will load 30-06 but not .50BMG.

i have the classic cast turret also.it works great,is inexpensive and fast to change calibers.the pro auto disk powder measure is o.k. but not very precise.get the pro measure, dumping out unused powder is a snap and you will need the double disk kit (2 powder disks on top of each other).remember, you are limited to about 50 grains of powder (approximately) per drop.i have a dillon 550 and wouldn't dream of buying conversion kits for more than a few calibers($$$$$)plus changing calibers on a dillon is a real PITA...

That's exactly why I sold my almost 20 year old 550B (but well maintained and carefully used) and bought two Classic Cast Turrets.

I use the Pro Auto Disc Powder Measure and it works great and throws accurate charges with almost 0 variation. Because you can close the bottom hole of the hopper, it is real easy to unload the hopper and/or change discs.

I got tired of weighing my charges every ten cycles because they all weigh the same anyway, even if visually the powder levels looked different in different casings. Pro-Auto Disc also gives consistent charge weights from full to almost empty (to where the hopper tapers), just make sure you keep powder within this range.
