Okay, so now I'm a Dad, I need to be a little more realistic with my firearm want list.

The Chinese M-14 copies have entered my radar for consideration, and I can go digging for a bit of info... But...

What is the difference between Nork's "M-14s" and the "M-305"?

Cheers,

Neal

Same thing as far as I know.

you do not know much then. No offense, they are pretty much the same thing, but if you want to give the OP a proper answer, its more complicated.

They are a good copy, but but not the same materials, or finish.

Umm, for the most part the Polytech M305 and the Norinco M14S are basically the same. The receivers are definitely identical apart from maybe markings and quality of machining finish from example to example.

Did you maybe misread his post and think he was saying an M305 is the same as a real USGI M14?

The other difference is some come with a plastic stock, others are shipping with a cheap chinese wood stock.

There are more differences as well, check the link I posted above.

With all due respect... Every time I have "searched", I have failed.

Marstar was listing both an M14s and an M305 from Norinco... Which is why I asked, as I thought they were the same, but if so... why two products listed on retailers web site?

Anyway, since the welcome was so warm, I shall just go and bugger off then.

;)

Please don't cry! I am so sorry for hurting your very delicate feelings.

Marstar no longer sells a gun advertised as an "M305". They sell an "M305b", which nobody has seen yet, but will probably be similar to a Polytech M305 with a black plastic stock.

The older Marstar Norinco guns were advertised as "M305" rifles, but were actually marked M14S.

The two terms are almost interchangeable, but in general when someone here says M14S, they are talking about a Norinco marked gun, while an M305 is usually a Polytech as these are the models marked on the respective receivers.

In terms of differences between them, as I said before, click on the link in my above post. There are subtle differences, but I have both and for all intents and purposes they are basically the same gun.

i just call them all "m14s" cuz that's what they all are regardless of source/supplier/or manufacturers/importers markings...... simply put they are a M14-Semiautomatic , ALL of them and they ALL come from China. ;) some versions differ slightly in stock, finish and markings..... but they are ALL essentially the same rifle.

Same same me -

All are patterned after the M14 - no mattter what country they come from.
All need the same tuning -
Same same xept for the original full auto which died quickly -

I agree, this comment above was way out of line.

Some people don't get as much love and attention they think they need, so they lash out at people, desperately hoping to get some attention, even if it is negative.

I gave you some attention trekstor, hope your feeling better.

Its unbelievable how wrong you guys are. Are you like a psychiatrist? How old are you dude? You barley know how to use a computer and now your a expert on how people reply. Maybe you just didn't realize I hate cry babies. Its hilarious, because i did admit to misreading the original thread. Maybe you have issues with reading?

What ever it is, I don't need attention, just stop crying because I was bit harsh :).
