Since money and actual range time is in short supply these days. I'm looking for sugestions on a do all bullet.. I will be hunting Deer, bear and moose. Thanks for any help that can be given.

too bad the 260gr Accubond wont penetrate through a broadside 250 lb moose.........ask Supercub

look likes to me the 300gr NAB would be a better choice......

270 grain A-frame. It'll take care of anything here, and everything that can be shot with a soft anywhere else too.The TSXs are good too, but this is what I replaced them with.

I'd say a 260 partition or 270 tsx will handle it all. The TSX's work good on gophers too, but for the pocket book it might pay to drop to 220 or 225 hornady's for general varminting.

I'd do a 270gr TSX. It'll do da trick.
If you aren't married to the magic bullets, and this is a North America only load, use the 270 Hornady. Its a good bullet for this continent.

This is pretty common with the 375 bore....I think the big round expanded bullets and animal skin behave like a softball in a catchers mitt. The fur will often stretch a foot or so off of the animal
The 260 Partition will also usually stop in the skin of a the far side, but shot head on the same bullet will go 4-5 feet.

FWIW I have recovered a few 270TSXs from broad side smallish moose.....I was pretty disappointed with that performance, but I can't imagine the 300AB penetrating farther.
All game was DRT or at least didn't go very far...So no complaints there.

That said the more is better concept is not foreign to me :)redface:) so I find it pretty difficult to come up with a real reason not to use the 300AB.
And hey! Todbartel said it so the groupies will come in here and tell us it must be true anyway!:D

Not sure if the 300AB is training wheel approved for the little Ruger?
Gatehouse? :p

Right now, I'd probably say the 300gr NAB or 270gr TSX.

It's hard to imagine any 300gr bullet bouncing off a moose or bear, though.:p

I have shot 1 bear end ot end with the 260NAB..I though performance was good, but SC didn't have th ebest luck...

I'm still waiting for Barnes to bring out a 265-250gr TTSX;)

Gate,
Have you heard of anybody shooting anything with one of the 350 TSX's?
Curious if they penetrate any better?

Not yet. I haven't even tried the 300gr TSX, and I dont' intend to go any heavier than 270gr with a TSX bullet...Maybe if I go for cape buffalo, but even then...Phil Shoemaker says his favorite .375 Alaskan bear bullet is the 270gr TSX, and I don't think there is anything much more tenacious in BC than a big grizzly...Maybe a bison, but they are a little different in disposition. ;)

I'm shooting the 270 TSX at 2700+ in my H&H. Haven't had a chance to kill anything with it yet but it sure goes through stumps well.

I've shot a black bear and a deer with the 270TSX @ 2730fps. Both close range.

Hardly much of a test for the bullets, but they penetrated both animals just fine.:p

Pretty cool that you've used the 270 TSX. Not too surprised they didn't stop. 30-06/180 trajectory with a 270 gr. bullet, what's not to like.

I've recovered 2 from 2 different smallish broadside moose.

That's exactly what happened. Both bullets were found against the hide on the far side. I would use them again for moose.

We don't have any nasty bears here to worry about, which is the case in some places out west, so I'd wouldn't worry about using a plain old Hornady 270gr SP.
