Sorry to jump in here late and possibly hijack but ... quick question.

What's the lightest you can go in .375? I'm thinking plains game africa is in my future and I would like the 375 but I also can't stand a rifle sleeping in the safe so I was wondering about something light for deer here in Sask.

Thoughts, comments, experience?

I picked up a box of 270gr and 300gr Hornday Sp. I'll just have to find the magic load for them out to 300 yards. Hornady bullets have been really good in other chamberings in the past.

Have a look at the 225 TSX. This would be a fantastic plains game load and would be more than enough for anything here in NA as well. Should be able to get 2900+ easily out of the Ruger case...I'll be 'field testing' them this fall.

Whats the going price for the barnes 270 gr TSX? Barnes are really hard to find around here. Might just have to order me some ;)

There's a 225 gr TSX, but you'll find that it doesn't shoot any flatter than a 270 at longer range.
