Is yours an AI? I would think that I should make it an AI as I would be single feeding it anyways.
I know that with safe reloading and such this shouldn't be an issue, I just don't want to hold my face 2 inches away from that and burn off 78g of 4831..
What is it your shooting? This load gives 14 MOA at 700 yds.
If I remember correctly the big difference is simply the improved case life of the Ackley.
I'm fairly new at this so its entirely possible I'm making some errors here-
My scope is 1/4 Minute so at 500 yds I dialed 8.5 MOA and that put me on the money. Looking at the drop charts produced by the program it says to dial 14 MOA for a 700 yd shot. Does that make sense?
I am not to crazy about the idea of Lapua on a Savage action.
I know that Savage is going a factory 338LM, still doesn't really seem like a good idea.
Too Many Guns,
It sounds like some of your input must be wrong to be off by that much (9.5-11.5). I think the models they use on the programs should be very accurate at that range. I would be curious to know why the difference.
