BCRA Tactical Rifle Championship 2010

Only four months to go!
Okay, okay, I can do this I can do this I can do this!
( I'm working on getting my stoke on!)
Yah figure if I just keep on shooting@200 until the match I can make the transition to 600 easy?!
Hahhahahah!
I'm not sure if my scope can even see out that far!
Can't wait to get out there!

total noob question here: is the shoot always run with teams?
I mean, it makes sense that it would be, but I just realized that I alone do not make a team!
How does that situation work?
Does someone get 'volunteered' to be thrown to the wolves with a total greenhorn?!
Thanks for your patience everyone!

don't worry there are always singles there looking for team mates. and sometimes being a greenhorn and being partnered with a top notch shooter isn't such a bad thing. just listen to him and you can even do quite good. (Thanks again Don!)

999 the entry forms for this year are up on the site now.

Could any locals recommend a good hotel to stay at for out of towners? Thanks

A good hotel and Chilliwack, don't go together:eek: I stayed at Best Western a couple of times. If you don't mind old jizz stained carpets and lumpy mattresses, then you're in luck. No I didn't add any to the carpet, now the shower curtain is another matter:p

What's this about short-term ATTs now being required to take restricted firearms to Volkes? I understand long-term ATTs are no longer valid for DoD ranges. WTF!! This could have a major impact on this event. Furthermore I understand short-term ATTs will only be issued to BCRA members.

It's not just this event, it effects SR shooters also.

It was in a mailout from the BCRA. It's the CFO's call. Apparently, people are already on it, so hopefully it'll all get ironed out asap.

Are you not in the BCRA Jess? You should have gotten these emails:

In the past ten years, we had a verbal arrangement with the Chief Provincial Firearms Officer that the ATT approval to transport Restricted Firearms for approved civilian ranges would also be recognized on BC Military ranges. Military ranges are not approved by the Firearms Officer as they are not inspected by them. Both Military and Civilian Range Construction Manuals are identical but it is obvious the turf war is on and more paper work hires more people. Secondly, the RCMP is now in charge of the Firearms Act so no need to expand on that. It is also interesting that RCMP/Police Response teams train on military ranges without special ATT’s.

I was an associate member - but my membership lapsed. But really this situation is completely ridiculous, without logic, and sadly very laughable - it reminds of the wranglings you get in countries like India that love inane bureaucracy just for the sake of it.

Class

For any of you competitors that are planning on attending the match, I've been asked to put on a short class on the use of hasty slings and natural point of aim from varous positions. I'll be doing this on friday after the live fire practice for anyone who'd care to attend strickly for the competitors benifit. I don't claim to be an expert but I do have some experience I'd be more than happy to give to whom ever would like it. I look forward to seeing you all there, perhaps someone will teach me something that will help me shoot better also.

Cheers.
