Does anyone know what would be a fair price to pay for a Colt 1911 Ace in .22 calibre, in excellent condition? I am looking at a ballpark value, thanks very much,

Hey there Joe, you getting into Colts now?
Between 1930-1937 Colt manufactured the Ace Model and on the right side of the border you could see $3000 for an excellent example, this side of that border...around $1500-$2000. The next model was the Service Model Ace with the pre 1945 blued version commanding a premium, $3000-$5000 for Ex condition in the states and , of course, less here. The post war version will be worth much less...$1000-$1200 give or take a few.
Just my 2 cents, hope it helps a bit.

Geez, did someone ever get fleeced if they paid $1,200 for a Colt .22 conversion unit. Even a minty example, in the box, will usually go for no more than $500 these days.

Thanks Gentlemen, it's actually a friend of mine making an offer on one. It's not a conversion kit, I think this one was manufactured in 1932. I appreciate your help, Gentlemen!
 
Hi ,
I have two colt ace 22’s SM models and understand with exemptions these can be used. Any idea of value they are both new, assuming only 5-10 years old at most ?
 
Interesting resurrection of a 15 year old thread.
Your 5-10 year old Aces must have been resurrected as well, given that the Ace was discontinued in 1947.
Given the limited options for sale, export to the US would be an option worth considering.
