Just ordered my Tavor today the waiting game begins

I simply do my best to report what IWI tells me. They say they are in the next shipment, so I report that to you.

Ah, didn't think there would be a fourth type, where Yes = Don't know.

I never knew Yes could be such a flexible and versatile word with so many different meanings. Thanks for the learning experience.

So just curious if you think youll be getting this rifle before they are put on the prohib list with the t97's? I was gonna buy one but I can't justify it at this point. How confident are you guys that this will not happen.

Have you donated yet to the NFA Legal Defense Fund to help run test cases to challenge that reclassifiation so that you will be able to continue to purchase black rifles like the Tavor? The time to pony up is now guys!

Talk about biting the hand that makes it possible to purchase the Tavor AT ALL.

CanAm is consistently doing his best... That doesn't mean he's not going to diappoint us from time to time. It means he's going to try hard to bring us new and shiny toys. That's enough for me!

Maybe a few teeth marks on some appendages is what's needed occasionally. They always have the option of just telling the truth, in which case my sarcastic and annoying posts would immediately stop.

But not enough for me. Hence the gnawing on his digits in the hopes a bit of honesty might be torn loose.

We will have 380mm barrels coming, so you can swap.

Actually this is what I am going to do. But what I do not understand is: after I do the swap do I need to register again as a restricted firearm? Also, if I swap back to the longer barrel do I furthermore have to register a third time? Any idea?

Yes, and yes; If it lasts for 30 days or more, you must notify the registrar of the change in bbl length.

So is it legal to swap the barrel with the shorter one and use it as a non resticted firearm say in the bush then when I get home swap the barrel back to the non res length barrel and I am still good as long as the barrel is swapped back to the non res length one before the 30 days are up?

I think it would be ok at the range... then swap back. not in the bush.
Or else your in there with a restricted.

It is playing with fire - it is like putting an automatic sear in and out of a receiver. You are creating a new class of weapon that is not what the original weapon is.

You can argue with whoever on that 30 days period - but that is only an administration policy - not the law. The law trumphs the policy. You will lose!

If you want a short barreled rifle, do it properly. Register it as a restricted.
