SVU (variant of a named non-variant)

There has been a lot of discussion, as of late, about the dragunov being a named "variant" of the AK47 (which we know is complete bulls**t) and the possibility of that error being used for de-prohibition.

Even if we can't get basic SVD's back, perhaps it would be possible to get SVU's?
 
It is bulp-up plus stright out svd. Unless Ottawa will change policy it will be Prohibited. Plus I do not think Russians sell it on civilian market, it is limited issue military rifle. If you watch photos or videos from War in Ossetia it was used but still regular SVD is more common
 
Is anyone actually currently challenging the Dragunov (which is a non-variant, but listed under prohibited weapons) prohibition? I know there's the R. v. Henderson case, but that firearm is actually unlisted...
