Tried this on another site, but not getting much luck.

Picked this up on our very own EE. MILES gear manufactured in England by Weston Simfire.

As per the pics, Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System, marked/designated for our FNC1A1. I'm thinking it didn't make it into the CF system anywhere, but was hoping some Weapon Tech, somewhere in CGN land may have seen or played with this system. In particular I'm wondering about a power source and what voltage of batteries? And if the stars are aligned, would someone out there have any manuals for this:D?

Any info is appreciated. Thanx!

The connection with the British L1 series of equipment, by the adjustment springs and levers on the laser unit, is evident.

You can see how the "trigger" mech from the laser cable is actually clamped onto the rifle trigger guard.

There is this same battery compartment on all three pieces. Laser, Umpires "pistol", and the vest. I'd prefer hearing anyone with experience with these units before I have to try the experimentation with batteries method.

I'm sure I can drive my wife nuts, if only I can get this functioning:evil:.

I think it did make into the system. Th reserve unit that I was in had tried to get them issued in the late 80's, early 90's when we were in WX. It was to big of a hassle than cause the battle school still ran wainwright and it took forever to get it issued and returned. I think it was also called the SAWS, Small Arms Weapons Simulator. But hey it was the Reserves and all types of tales were and still told.

Old story, gotta sell some crap to buy some crap. And then saw it here and spent waaayyyy too much money, but figured it fits into the FN Canadian collection of more crap.

I'd like to get it going, cause I'm sure it makes a lot of noise. My son will love it, the wife, probably not so much.:D

I'd appreciate that. It's hard to know which trade played with what stuff, as some other weapon stuff, ie. night vision, was FCS Tech domain and other stuff was Weapon Tech. I don't even know if those trades still exist?

My main concern would be knowing the correct voltage. Any manuals would be a big help.:)

just talked to 2 of the weapons tech's that are at top. and they only know about the C7 stuff ,but said they would look around Louis St- Laurent building for info.

Ya, the G man will be seeing this stuff very soon. But now that he's retired, senility may not allow him to remember this stuff.:p

I remember someone mentioning seeing some of this kit being used w/the Militia at the Mattawa camp in Pet in 90 and I think it was G.P.

Hi there,
I used simfire on Brit. Army exercise in northern Germany 1982,I was on Chieftain MBT at the time, the exercise was in the Luneburg - Uelzen area.Simfire unfortunately was not very reliable.
Sorry that's all I know about it but I'll ask around for some more info for you,but don't hold your breath.
Tankman.
