PLEASE, tell me about my "new" SKS (note: many photos)

kurgan: firstly, davecasey is correct , frankken pin is only referred to the hideous pin job .

secondly, i own over a dozen non-refurbs and none of the numbers on the barrel lug matches the serial numbers (some i cant even see the numbers on the barrel lug).

Thank you. I suspected that to be the case.

BTW, I recognize the term "frankenpin" and agree. What an abomination. What can you do?
Secondly, another poster declared my SKS to be a "frankenstein mix", quite different from "frankenpin".

Thanks to your informed confirmation, and after hours upon hours of independant research, I am quite content to know that I have a virtually unmolested original SKS apart from a refinished 1950's replacement laminate stock. She will become my shooter.

Now I'm looking for another in similar condition or completely original. She will become my wall ornamant
