Hey guys, I got a question for ya. The cleaning rod on the sks doesnt allow the bore brush or jag to exit the barrel when cleaning, but instead you have to change direction of the bore brush in the bore to pull it out and pull the dirty patch back through the bore. Is there a better way to do this or is this it? I like that the rifle has a full cleaning kit but is it ok to use it like this on a regular basis?

The cleaning rods that come with the SKS's I find to be too short so I use a Mosin Nagant rod which is a lot longer, solved my problem. Cheers.

I wouldn't use the steel cleaning rod or the kit that came with the rifle-I prefer a teflon coated cleaning rod and brass jags so as to not scratch up the bore. If I am out in the boonies, I use an Otis pull through kit, very handy and compact.

Using the bore guide in the cleaning kit that lock onto the front sight will prevent any damages.
