What works best for you in factory ammunition?

I use a 300 Winchester magnum and a 270.

I've tried the regular Winchester Super-X in the 270 and they group okay at 100 yards, but in my rifle the groups spread out terribly at 200 yards.

I've been using 150 grain handloads in the 270 I made up on a buddy's equipment, but he's kind of lost interest in handloading.

My Ruger M77 .308 (tang safety) loves Winchester PowerMax 150gr. Sub MOA groups. For 180gr bullets, it shoots old Federals loaded with Woodleigh Weldcore bullets best (slightly above MOA)

My Win 70 in 270WSM likes Federal 130gr soft points. Also shoots 140gr accubonds well.

I've found that in all of my rifles, the Federal "blue box" ammo that I buy at Wally-World or Cambodian Tire shoots extremely well and comes really close to (or exceeds) the advertised velocity.

Depending on what you're hunting Federal Premium are good. If you don't need or want premium bullets then go with the Blue Box or comparable Hornady, Remington, Winshester etc.

In my Remington 7600 (30-06), the only thing I could get even close to 1" groups with were Federal Vital-shok (blue box). Federal Vital-shok is all I have tried in my new gun (T/C Venture) and it shoots them real well.

My Stevens 200 in 22-250 shoots winchester white box 45gr easliy under 1" all day long. Honestly that's the only thing I still shoot factory in, besides rimfire. I did hunt for years with Winchester Premium .308 win loaded with 180gr Nosler Partitions and brought home more game with that combo (out of a Rem 600) than with any other centerfire.

$44 at Wallyworld?? I better take a ride over there tonight,, havent been able to find them and cheaper that $52 and I think ive only got 3 rounds left!

WSS has them for 47$ but walmart is the 44$ (checked today)

I remember probably 18 months ago they were about 29$ at the same walmart
