Type 81?

Not quite a type 81 but added some wood to my sks to make it look similar. I added some wood to my ATI stock. Top pic is one with the finished lower handguard and the bottom pic is one of the pics i took before i did the lower handguard. The ATI stock i removed the folder and then filled it with industrial grade composite plastic mixture and cnc machined it. I then basically took the butt end of the an sks stock, measured my length pull, and machined it down to fit a the butt end of the ATI stock and screwed it in, coated with epoxy. The lower handguard, I took a piece of maple and machined it down until it fit over the front end of the ATI stock and epoxied it in place. I've hunted two seasons with it now with no problems.

I interested in them too, after reading of the history of their development, and they basically sound like a southeast Asian VZ 58. Definitely way more elegant than the crude and clumsy AK 47 series.

I would be interested in a .223, especially if it could share mags with the .223 type 56s and it looked like the one in the fourth picture down of nikoinwinnipeg's post.
