Was looking through STI's website and found my dream gun...

Perfect10_Main.jpg

A 6" Tactical pistol in 10mm, STI International's patented 2011 technology gives the STI "Perfect 10" more fire power advantage than 1911 tactical pistols. Combining this advantage with less felt recoil and other popular 2011 features, the STI "Perfect 10" is a superior pistol for all tactical applications.
Built on the patented modular steel frame with polymer grip (the essential patented design element for high capacity) the STI "Perfect 10" delivers the added benefit of high capacity magazines without over-sizing the circumference of the grip. The STI "Perfect 10" is well suited for multiple applications; ranging from police and SWAT teams requiring a firearm with a light rail and high capacity, to the individual demanding a high performance pistol with special features for personal protection. The tactical rail milled into the dust cover of the frame accepts all industry standard light mounts.

The STI "Perfect 10" has front and rear cocking serrations, STI dovetail front sight, and STI adjustable rear sight. The STI "Perfect 10" comes standard with features such as an STI stainless steel fully supported, ramped bull barrel, an STI two piece guide rod system, an STI aluminum magwell, an STI hi-ride grip safety, and STI ambi thumb safeties.

It would be nice except for the fact "Perfect 10" on the side. Gives it that cheap look IMO.
That's my one peeve with STI guns, aesthetically; the lettering is so gaudy.

Anyway, you could probably get a Strayer-Voigt in the same configuration for... well... it certainly would be a bit more and there's a wait, but they look a lot nicer. :D

I personnaly hate pistols with huge lettering on them; STI is particularly good with that... But their pistol shoot very nice!

would you rather have a Kimber Tactical Ultra Pro Carry II Limited?

I prefer the Kimber Tactical Elite Pro Mohawk Night Elf Tactical Limited Carry III Elite XI Hawt Cheerleaders XXI...

Seriously, when it comes to 1911, I like discrete markings like found on Dan Wesson 1911 or Ed Brown, etc.. I'm not a fan of STI "SPARTAH", rangers, etc.. (Even though they're probably one of the best value imo) Even a bunch of Colts comes with huge letterings..

The most retarded pistols imo are those with "See manual for safety instructions bla bla.. " written on the slide.. (Can't remember the brand/model.. Colt?).

Personal preference, to each their own :)

You can get a review in the June 2010 of Combat Handguns.
Check it out, They covered the Perfect 10
Issue has an SR9c on the cover

OK....I have to agree with most of you regarding the big letters stamped on the slide. My criteria for a dream gun includes looks but they are a little bit down the list as caliber, double stack mag, make/quality, slide length, etc, edge out the looks department. So my exact "dream gun" wouldn't have Perfect 10 glaring at you from the slide. :p

Ruger is the maker most notorious for excessive verbiage on their guns. Most recent Colts aren't too bad looking in terms of slide rollmarks, though some are a bit much. The absolute worst were the ones with the giant "COLT M1991A1" markings.

Not only do so many guns today have huge, gaudy markings and forward slide serrations, but the serrations are so coarse, so the ugliness is amplified.

The most inspiring markings on a handgun are on S&W 8 shot revolvers. "357 Magnum 8 times" really makes a statement. Not "8 shots", or "times 8". The words "8 times" conjure up visions of action.
