Photo of AK-74 200

After taking a second look at that picture, maybe he is saying to himself: "I'd rather have the other AK on the table then this plastic thing".

Mind you, so would I! :D

Apparently the guy is something like a third degree black belt in Judo and has even released an instructional DvD.

I love how the guy looks completely unimpressed in ever picture or video he's appeared in. The dude just looks like the kind of maniac that would hunt homeless people at night with concertina wire.

As for the AK 'modernization' project, I'm just gonna have to laugh. It looks like the Russians have caught the tacticoolitis. Have fun heaving around a 60 year old rifle design weighed down with plastic, rails and god knows what else.

Whatever happened to the An-94?

Lmao. You my friend, are on my cool list now :p I was thinking the exact same thing. Every picture I see him in, he is like "so? I could have built that...but better" or "yawn...can I go to judo practice now?"

I would like to see him in the ring with the young Jean Chretien lol Could be interesting. Remember the protestor incident? (choking/throat grabbing).

OK, is it me, or Andrei Zorin is a giant? Or all Russians are dwarfs!

And, am I the only one who laughed because that reminded me of the villain's name in James Bond's "A View to a Kill"?

What, the actual rifle? Oh, right. Well, it probably works well. Looks don't really matter when it comes to function, in real battle scenarios, right? Case in point: Steyr AUG...

This reminds me the scene from Snatch when Boris the Blade walks in with a massive Kalashnikov with grenade launcher and everything!

If there is any improvement need for an AK, I'd think it would be better barrel balance to alleviate the barrel wobble during full-auto fire...Other than the muzzle break.

If an AK is prohib, it just means the rcmp admits its an awesome gun!

Cheers,
Sand

I don't think the barrel woble in auto is a big deal, since auto is for short bursts at close range. I would improve the ergonomics (safety, length of pull, sights). Agree with you about everything else though:D

LMAO!

Apparently, a rough translation (by my wife) from the video states that they are focusing on making the firearms more accessible to the Russian military at a price point where the military doesn't have to look to other nations for weapons. They also want to invest in finding a newer way to make firearms, but as yet the best way to make them is by hand. Some of the improvements made to the AK are in cheek weld, sight picture, and how you hold it.

I like Ak's with wood, just like they were ment to be.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't much care for plastic.

I dunno, still cool but, but give me a plain jane akm and I'll be happy as a pig in ####.
