270win 130gr TSX...Moose???

Like I Said...
I have better(more powerful) rifles in the cabinet, just curious to what everybody's take is on it

Sure it will work. Doesn't really matter which one you use. Put it in the boiler and its game over. I can reach into my safe and pull out any rifle in there, and kill a moose. :)

The fudds that hate the RUMs can't handle them or have never fired them so for some underlying emotional reason have to spew against them.

If you understand them and can handle them you'll never be without one again...

As for the 130gr TSX in a 270 Win for moose yes it will do the job but I would only take a lung/heart shot myself I'd take something larger just becasue almost every hunting rifle I have is larger diameter.

I load 140gr TSX in my old Husky 270 Weatherby @ 3300fps that is now owned by my son and would not hesitate to recommend he use it on moose.

I wouldn't hesitate to use the .270 with a quality 130 grain bullet. Have certainly eaten moose taken with less (.25-06, one lung shot at about 100 yards as a specific example. Not my choice, but the results were still good.).

That being said, with a RUM in the cabinet I'd banish the .270 to play second-string (in case you drop the RUM in the lake) unless you've got a shoulder injury.

Yup. Same goes if there is a 375H&H or 338 Win Mag in the cabinet.
A 3050 fps 210 grain .338 TTSX is devastating:) (Might be a bit hot for some rifles).
A 2800 fps 300 gr .375 TSX is ummm welll you know:)

No problem

I took my 270 WSM griz hunting using the new 130gmx hornady load and figured I had plenty of gun. My son smashes big moose bones with his 243 and the 85 gr. tsx.
