Anyone own a Sig X-Five?

Yup, Ive got an X-5 Allround in 9mm. Excellent shooter, well balance, and mostly uses standard 226 parts. The only pistol that I prefer more is my X-6

Right now Im using a CR speed holster with the X6, it will also work with the X5. I also have a SIG kydex type holster for the X5...the X6 will fit in it as well but the barrel sticks out the bottom of the holster almost an inch. I think with a slight modification, I could get the X5 to fit in the standard Blackhawk Serpa holster that I use with my 226.

Sig X5 SAO in 9mm. (and friends) I use a Bladetech holster for mine.
They are the best quality production pistol going imho.

OOOOO they look soo good! Are Bladetechs the only holster option other than race holsters? I was considering getting a Bladetech, but I didn't want it to wear the finish off the gun. Is that a realistic concern with the Bladetechs?

To each their own. I do like my pistols clean and finish unharmed so money is no object when it comes to buying a decent holster that won't thrash the pistol's finish...

I think a CR Speed holster would fit the bill; it doesn't have any contact with the pistol beside the trigger guard.

A ghost holster might also fit the bill, but I haven't seen one in person.

If your concerend about the finish being damaged, being stainless (unless you go X5 tactical) you will have a tough time damaging the finish. Ive had my X5 in and out of the SIG kydex type holster that I mentioned probly a thousand times maybe more with nothing more than a couple slight rub marks that a visible and will likely buff out without much problem. I would have to say much less holster wear than on my Nitron finished pistols, and they cant be buffed out.

I purchase guns to shoot them.
The Bladetechs work for a number of sports, support the gun properly, and are no slower on the draw than race holsters.
The minor rubbing mine has seen (It's been in and out of the holster about a couple of hundred times (it sees very light use) and shows zero wear on the finish.
If you are worried about the finish, leave it in the safe so your wife can sell it for half the cost when you are dead.:nest:, or shoot the hell out of it knowing full well you are shooting the finest handgun going. If in twenty years you still have it and it is showing it's age, send it to a gunsmith for a hundred or two and have it looking brand new again.

Oh, I definately shoot my guns. I just like to keep them in the best condition (mechanical and visual) possible while I do.

My Mom has a Sig X5 tactical and if I ever decided to by a 9mm that's the gun I'd buy.

Does she use a holster?

The guys at the range had a bunch of the X5's made up with stainless frames and blackened slides (no glare); they are the single action model. I shot one fo them and I made a ragged hole at 15 meters with factory ammo. If I had that type of money to throw around, I think I would buy one; we have our first kid coming, so maybe in 25 years I will be able to afford one :).

Every person that has one has them in Bladetech holsters and they all love them. If I was not such a leather buff, I would have one for my Shadow.
