What if you were to buy it from the states, import it with a canadian legal barrel, then have it rebarreled and reclassified here?

Might be a little expensive, but if you really wanted it. Getting the 12(6) barrel into Canada may be a problem.

Nope. A 12(6) barrel is a prohibited device. Even gunsmiths get flack for having too many around to repair legit prohibs.
