Swiss Arms Mags

I know I'm late to the party here but i was just wondering what Magazine material everyone is running if there running the Chinese mags. Any practical difference.
Black PA66
Dark Tan Transparent Polycarbonate
Amber Transparent

I have 12 of the black ones. I haven't used the others from CanAm to compare but they work just as well as the factory mags.

A small shop can make a 556 look a like receiver that can fit to a Swiss arms upper, some one like DLASK Arms ??

Its not Nuke science .

They can be made cheaper than CO is selling them.

Find me 99 of your friends then and I'll guarantee that they'll be made. ;)

If you can have a better price than CO then it would be a no brainer to make 100.

Most of the manufacturers want the chicken before the egg. You make the profits so you gota have a little risk.

Why does the hinge on the folding stock adapter have to stick out so much?

Ummm well lets see its a ACE folder and thats how they made it, you could use any folding mechanism that fits on a AR stock.

I have enough risk lined up on products I KNOW will sell... I still have kids to feed at the end of the day. I have some of these lowers myself.. so I know there is "some" market. I just don't know if there's a large enough market for $600 SA add-ons in Canada. Everyone says they want something until people step up and assume the risk creating it, then most of those people sit back quietly never to be heard of again..

Put me down as a guaranteed buyer: build it and I will buy at least one. :)

I am sure dealers would be willing to stock these lowers too.

I paid way more than that for mine. $600 retail with a SA LPK and they would sell easilly.

Oh and Im down for another one or two.

Legal question , If its a registered part, do i have to change the registration of my rifles.

I'm not interest in turning my unrestricted Swiss Arms in a restricted.

For a Max range price of 500-600 $ i'm in.

The Swiss Arms legally registered part is the upper reciever not the lower.

Been looked into.. the question is can we sell 100 min for it to be worth while to tool up.

I can understand the concern, the Swiss Arms market is a little limited when compared to the AR15 and 'Red gun' markets. It sure would be nice to have a STANAG mag compatible lower for my Swiss Arms. I'm in for one for sure if you make one! Maybe two!

Hey Dave,

What are the chances you can set up an escrow account? Hold funds in trust for those who want to buy the receivers and release certificate to each allotment. Time limit it to one year for funding the build. If it doesn't happen the funds return to source.

Even better, could someone like CSSA or NFA do this without violating their operating charter? Facilitate development of a new product line grown here in Canada without causing a primary manufacturer concerns they normally don't deal with?

Who knows.

Maybe we can get close enough in numbers to convince one or two vendors here in Canada to help foot the final tally. (5 to this guy in Western Canada for future sales, 5 to this one over in the East).

Food for thought.

One of our policies is that we'll never take money for product not in hand. I've seen too many pre-orders go bad and it just makes everyone bitter. Whether it's products out of stock on our store or new items waiting to come to market, we'll never take your money without your product. If theres enough interest I'll put my own money in and roll the dice. These projects take a lot of money, and even more time and we have to prioritize projects to those that we know are going to sell. As product lines grow we're willing to take on items like these that are a bit of a gamble or have a longer recovery time to pay out.

-edit-

What the hell.. we're talking right now. More to come.

The Swiss arms upper will fit on the 556 Lower however the trunion area has to be machined out to allow the AR-15 style mag to sit the correct height to feed correctly.
I have observed one from Questar that they assembled and had been machined in that area, it did work flawlessly once the maching was done.
