I just read somewhere that the 10-rd mags for the AIA improved Enfield rifles will work in the M14. Is this true? And if so, where can I get them? Thanks.

"...Who sells and ships to Canada?..." Marstar(sold out of mags) and Wolverine(not listing the rifles or parts) are the distributors. AIA rifles aren't allowed into the U.S.
"...will work in the M14..." Only if you pin 'em to 5.

...will work in the M14..." Only if you pin 'em to 5.

Why? If it is made for and designed to work in a bolt action centrefire rifle (no magazine limit) and works in an M-14 without modifications why would it need to be pinned? Wouldn't this mag be treated similar to the LAR-15 mags?

AIA should make 20 round mags for their enfields :D

Guess what? They do.

This German company stocks them. I believe a member here tried to import some but their distributer was back ordered with AIA just like everyone else.

OK, I have both M-14 and AIA M10, M-14 mags will work in AIA M10 but not the other way around if you put AIA 10 round mag in M-14 it will not hold in it lacks the little squer hole in the front. You can put it in but if you try to chamber the mag is pushed down each time bolt moves and cartriges are jamming.
On the other hand M-14 mags with exeption of short 5 work super in AIA M10

So if they don't have a hole in the front edge how to the mag hook into the mag well. Correct me if i'm wrong but the op rod spring guide hooks into that hole. Would this not be a problem with functioning?

Be nice if we could get more, but AIA never replies to emails, and Marstar is silent on the subject.

So "if" I had a 20 rounder M14 mag why don't I just tell the officer it's for an AIA rifle and I'm just saving up for the rifle but I can only afford the mags right now.:p

It's one of those cases where the law is on your side, but an officer might not see it that way, which is unfortunate but understandable. You probably couldn't get in trouble for it in the end, but if a cop stopped you and you had an m14 with a bunch of what appeared to be 20-round mags for it, he probably wouldn't buy your explanation at the time. It's such a badly written law, it's hard not to sound ridiculous when explaining it to someone!

If it was me, I'd get an AIA rifle - as well as an m14 - and store the AIA mags in a case with the AIA rifle, separately from the m14. I'd even have the AIA mags engraved as such. That way, in the unlikely event that an officer wants to inspect your gear, he'll see the 20 rounders together with the bolt gun and not think anything of it. Keep your ducks in a row, and save yourself the hassle.

I am not a lawyer, but as I understand it, the end use of the magazine is not an issue. Use it in a bolt gun. Use it in a semi-automatic rifle. Display it on a coffee table as post modern art.

If the mag is legal to possess (eg a LAR 10 round 223 pistol mag https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/q_images/LAR%20Pistol%20Mags%20Ruling%202008-06-18.pdf), go ahead and possess it.

That may be the case with your rifle, but certainly not with all of them.

My Norinco runs flawlessly with both of my AIA mags.
