Hi,

I am putting my CZ858 back together after the treatment/bore lining by Rauch Tactical. I have a small torsion spring in my bag of bits from the dissasembly. What is it and where does it go?

It looks sort of like this (not an actual photo of the VZ58 part):

Nope not really you will just notice alot more take up in the trigger when pulling it. But this leads me to wonder. If we could increase the trigger spring tension and also increase these little spring's tension in the trigger. Will it not decrease the trigger pull?

No,my spring broke so i have removed it. Your rifle will function perfectly without.:)

yes, it will function but not perfectly, it causes the disconnect to get hung up on the carrier and thats leads to the dreaded gremlin .

try pointing the barrel downward without the spring and then lower the carrier , most time it will stop the carrier part way.

I have just tried and carrier doesnt hung up. I never have yet the gremlin with my cz but i know that is always a possibility so i will have the carrier tabbed when i will send it to Rauch Tactical for refinishing. Thanks for the info:)

Why does your trigger have two springs in it?

the spring is there to move the trigger forward thus the disconnect would clear the carrier ramp, without it , the disconnect may move 1mm higher and get hung up on the ramp and interfere with carrier moving forward.

I assume the parts kit is military surplus, so is that the design of the original military trigger?
Yea, it's for full auto. but the full auto sear isn't there and those parts won't fit even if you had them.

Curtton just solved a small mystery of mine. I don't have that spring and my carrier does get hung up.

its there for a reason otherwise they would have eliminated that piece cos its a PIA , a pain to reinstall it and im constantly losing during cleaning and finding it again.

Actually I disagree. I remove it from all my VZs and generally for customers as well. The Gremlin is another issue, entirely to do with the removal of FA components from the mix.

From what I can tell this spring is essentially a "liability spring". In other words is is designed to increase trigger pull and reduce the likelihood of a negligent discharge. This is pretty common in military and LEO firearms, the Tavor being a good example. Leave it out and shoot the gun.

no, gremlin will occur when the disconnect wears out and with the carrier getting hung up on the disconnect , it will increase wear.
