Hi all

Looks like Louthepou and I are working on similar project, either Lee Enfields or 22lr stock in plywood. :D

I wanted something more comfy to shoot at the range with bipod and bags, so I made this. I'm un-decided at the final color, it will be black or OD.

Beautiful!

Very Nice Job Bobfortier!!!

It would have looked nice to seen it stained too though....;)

^^ What he said. I think stain would have done it wonders. But that's just my opinion.

If you painted it, why not just make it out of a chunk of fir?

At any rate, I wish I had your talent. Fill us in on the how to's of this project.

Gee wizz Bob, like you needed to show everyone how amateur I still am... :D

Just kidding Bob, that is (again) master-level work. Keep up the good work, that'll keep pushing me to get going for my next project! ;) Speaking of which, I need to retrofit a LEC (Lee Enfield Carbine), so I better get busy.

Wow!!! bobfortier you make guys like me with absolutely no talent for crafting something like this completely jealous!!!

Looks great. I have to admit, I like the way the wood grain showed on the raw wood and would have kept it showing. It had a nice pattern from what I could see of it.

Here is it with the color.

I bought some hammered finish dark grey paint. Turned out pretty good. For a stock of that design I don't mind a more plastic look.

I did that with 4 thickness of 12mm Russian Birch plywood, so roughly 1 7/8" thick.

I got a big blank of this stuff, I do stock for people as a sideline....
